A group of 12 top European clubs, including United, said on Sunday they were launching the breakaway competition, sparking outrage across football and beyond. The league will have 15 founding members to be joined by five clubs who qualify annually based on their domestic achievements. The founding 15 would have their participation guaranteed, removing any risk of relegation.

Bryant, a five-time NBA champion with the Lakers, died last year aged 41 in a helicopter crash alongside his daughter and seven others, shocking the world of sport and sending fans into mourning. He will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2020 alongside the likes of Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett on May 15. Members of the Class of 2020 were asked to select previous inductees to present them to their peers during the ceremony.

ITF extends Tokyo Games qualification window to June 14

By Syndicated Content Apr 15, 2021 10:01 AM (Reuters) - The International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Thursday said the qualification period for this year s Tokyo Olympics would be extended by a week until June 14 to accommodate the postponement of the French Open due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The French Tennis Federation last week said the claycourt Grand Slam would be held one week later than originally planned, beginning on May 24 and finishing on June 13. The ATP and WTA world rankings as of June 14 will be used to select players eligible for direct acceptance into men s and women s singles and doubles in Tokyo.
