Arab Media Forum kicks off with virtual session
The 19th Arab Media Forum (AMF), being held virtually for the first time, kicked off on Wednesday, under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, President of the Dubai Press Club which is organising the event, addressed the opening session. She said: The current Covid-19 crisis has posed a real test for media industry around the world and pushed us towards thinking differently for the future to create a better Arab media.

The Arab region and the rest of the world are faced with a “pandemic of misinformation, fake news and hate speech” that needs to be combated through the community’s collective efforts, Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said in his keynote address at the Arab Media Forum (AMF).
The AMF, which kicked off on Wednesday, was held virtually for the first time and was attended remotely by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
