Unemployment on decline in J&K
Amid the pandemic, over 5,000 youth in Jammu and Kashmir have been provided job offer letters by the private sector during placement drives conducted in the year 2020, in different parts of the Union Territory (UT).
When the entire country, including the UT, was fighting the deadly Coronavirus, job fairs and placement drives were launched in J&K to provide employment to the pass-outs of different technical institutes. Multiple placement drives and job fairs were conducted last year and near about 5000 polytechnic and ITI pass-outs were provided job offer letters in private sectors , Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, informed during a meeting to review the functioning of the Skill Development Department.

Sealed EVMs sent to college in Krishnagiri

AAA The EVMs were sealed and kept in the strong room at the Government Polytechnic College on Wednesday. Earlier, the District Election Officer and Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy inspected the strong room and verified the EVMs before they were secured in the strong room locked and sealed in the presence of political party representatives.
The EVMs have been fortified with three-tier security, and monitored round the clock by cameras inside the strong rooms. The political parties may view the safety of the EVMs stored in the strong room through the monitors at the election control room at the Collectorate. The strong is guarded by armed policemen round the clock and the building premises is also secured by the police force.

Three tier-security as well as 100 CCTV cameras have been installed at the Government Polytechnic College in Udhagamandalam, where EVMs from polling stations across the three Assembly constituencies in the Nilgiris are being stored.
On Wednesday, District Election Officer J. Innocent Divya as well as Returning Officers of Udhagamandalam, Coonoor and Gudalur constituencies sealed the strong rooms at the college.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. Divya said that the strong rooms were sealed in front of the candidates. “A total of 102 cameras have been fixed inside the premises,” said Ms. Divya, who added that there would be round-the-clock monitoring of the premises by executive magistrates, who will be deployed in three shifts.
