Centre Lauds AP Performance In Energy Conservation Under PAT Scheme Mar 01, 2021, 11:15 IST
NEW DELHI: The Centre has lauded the Andhra Pradesh Government for showing the best talent in implementing the Perform, Achieve, Trade (PAT) scheme for energy conservation. The State registered better performance in implementing the PAT in the second phase.
On Monday, Union Minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy RK Singh will preside over a webinar in Delhi on Monday on the progress made by various industries in the second phase of PAT across the country.
Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) Director General Abhay Bhakre detailed the progress made by AP in energy conservation, the state energy ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

AMARAVATI: With Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy giving high priority to the welfare schemes and ensuring the loan disbursement process to be completed by the end of March, 5.01 lakh small traders have received interest free loans of up to Rs 10,000 under the Jagananna Thodu scheme so far.
The scheme was launched on November 25 last year and a review meeting over the progress of the scheme was conducted on the 18th of this month.
As per reports banks have extended interest-free loans to about 5.82 lakh small traders. Of this, loans were given to 5.01 lakh small traders. A total of 9.65 lakh applications were sent to the bankers who were eligible for the scheme.

The State government has decided to lay 22,400 free borewells for farmers by the end of March through the YSR Jala Kala scheme. Rural Development Commissioner Girija Shankar and Watershed Director PVRM Reddy on Wednesday held a meeting with DWMA PDs of 13 districts and set district-wise targets. Authorities have been directed to finalize plans to dig free bores at the rate of 3,200 in January, 9,600 in February, and 9,600 in March across the state as per the plan.
In order to make the YSR Jala Kala scheme more beneficial where farmers who have no open water source for irrigation are provided free borewells, the Andhra Pradesh government has started the process of changing rules so that more farmers especially in the dry areas can benefit from it.
