Offices in Gujarat allowed to operate with 100% staff from June 7

Private as well as government offices in Gujarat have been functioning with 50 per cent staff since the beginning of May, when the state witnessed a substantial rise in infection cases. The state government had allowed only half the work force in offices in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.

In the wake of a significant decline in COVID-19 cases, the Gujarat government on Friday announced that private as well as government offices in the state can now function with 100 per cent staff from June 7. The decision was taken by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, an official release issued on Friday said.

In April, the state had restricted the presence of employees in government offices to 10 per cent due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. The new order is applicable till June 15, and the officials and employees will have to follow the COVID-19 guidelines, the state government said in a release on Sunday.

Bomb Threat at Government Offices in the City
Services were interrupted for about four hours today at the Belize Tax Service and Treasury Departments following separate bomb threats being made in Belize City this morning. News Five’s Duane Moody was on the ground and files this report.

As the work day began at the Treasury Department on Coney Drive and the Charles Bartlett Hyde Building on Mahogany Street, which houses the Belize Tax Service and the Elections and Boundaries Departments, calls were made to these respective government departments claiming bombs had been planted at these offices. Without much panic, hundreds of employees made their way out of the building a onto the streets and the area cordoned off by police.
