KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday unanimously adopted two clubbed resolutions to condemn the brutal killing of 11 coal miners belonging to Hazara community, asking Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit the sit-in being held by bereaved families in Quetta as per their demand.
One of the resolutions was presented by Pakistan Peoples Party’s Syeda Shehla Raza and the other jointly by Mohammad Hussain Khan of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Arsalan Taj of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. The two resolutions were clubbed as they were identical.

A Lahore sessions court has summoned Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai on December 24 over a plea seeking to book him for using inappropriate remarks during the Pakistan Democratic Movement s (PDM) Lahore rally, and attempting to create unrest.
Lahore sessions court Judge Rizwan Aziz issued the summon while hearing petitioner Tanveer Irshad s plea.
The petitioner maintained that Achakzai delivered an inappropriate speech to please foreign enemies whilst also hurting the sentiments of the local citizens. Therefore, he stated, the court should promptly issue an order to register a case against him.

Holding the Pakistan Peoples Party responsible for the rapidly worsening situation of every sector in Sindh, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders said on Monday that for the past 13 years, the provincial government had been making false promises to the people.
The federation had written a letter asking the FBR to collect taxes from the agencies that operated interprovincially, said Leader of Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi at a press conference at the Insaf House.
âSuch a simple thing is not understood by a minister,â he said, adding that four decades had passed since the enactment of the EOBI and Social Security Act, but citizens had not been able to avail the benefits of these institutions till date.

Welcoming the Pakistan Peoples Partyâs (PPP) announcement that it might resign from the Sindh Assembly, provincial leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday said the PTI would win the by-polls in that case and form its provincial government to bring reforms mainly in the health, education, local government and home departments.
Addressing a press conference, PTI Karachi President and MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman said that after receiving resignations from the PPP lawmakers, the Election Commission of Pakistan should immediately hold by-polls on the vacant seats and after winning the by-polls, the PTI will bring reforms in the state institutions by forming an ideal government in the province.
