There is a need for men and women at all levels of the Royal Barbados Police Force to be better paid and for those who are in “acting” positions to be confirmed in the posts, says Government backbencher Toni Moore.
Speaking during debate on the Defence (Amendment) Bill, 2021, in the House of Assembly yesterday, the parliamentary representative for St George North and general secretary of the Barbados Workers Union said “improved renumeration” was an issue that needed to be addressed along with the “very real concern” of the Police and Barbados Defence Forces being “under-resourced and struggling to attract and retain officers”.
