Prime Minister Minnis Receives COVID-19 Inoculation – March 14, 2021
The Bahamas Office of the Prime Minister issued a statement on Sunday, March 14th, following a pilot rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination program in the country earlier the same day, in which both Prime Minister Minnis and his wife took part, as part of an initial group of 110 individuals, which consisted of healthcare workers, staff of the uniformed branches and volunteers working on the vaccination campaign. NASSAU| The Attorney Generalâs Office has refused to give the Royal Bahamas Police Force the green light to pursue criminal charges against former Minister of Youth, Sports And Culture Lanisha Rolle who is embroiled in controversy following a recent audit of her ministry.
The investigation revealed the issuance of questionable contracts and mismanagement of public funds. Police were pursuing charges but the AGâs Office rejected the file, according to police insiders.
Officersâ attempts to move forward with charges were blocked as the Minnis Administration does not want to embarrass Rolle, who tendered her resignation as minister on Tuesday.

Cabinet Minister Lanisha Rolle, who was appointed Minister of Youths Sports and Culture (MoYSC) following a Cabinet Shuffle back in 2018.
Rolle came under fire following a damning forensic audit on the finances of the Ministry which
exposed millions in payments to a contractor without proper financial authority.
PM Minnis early last week requested a handover of all contracts within the Ministry after
Finance shut down all contracts out of MoYSC.
Audit information reveals multiple contracts were awarded through MoYSC evading standard financial protocols within the Ministry.
