By: Times News Service Muscat: The Royal Court Affairs has suspended the horse and camel racing for this season A statement issued online by Royal Court Affairs said : Pursuant to what was approved by the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, to suspend official and private sporting activities, starting from the first Thursday, April 1, 2021 until further notice, and  to saving lives and avoids the risk of Covid-19 by uniting with all national efforts aiming to limit the spread of this epidemic in the Sultanate, it has been decided to announce the final suspension of horse and camel racing for this season.

Renaissance secures funding for Oman workers village expansion MUSCAT, 20 days ago Oman-based Renaissance Services has secured funding worth RO31.7 million ($82 million) for the expansion of its workers village at Duqm region of the sultanate, reported Times of Oman.    Phase One of the Renaissance Village Duqm (RSVD) had been completed out of funding from equity, shareholder’s bridge funding and internal surplus; and its total capacity now stands at over 23,000 beds, said the report.   The new funding comes following the successful closing of debt financing deals with six leading Omani financial institutions - Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman, Bank Dhofar, Ahli Bank, Oman Arab Bank and Al Omaniya Financial Services.

COVID-19: Heritage and historical sites open in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Court Affairs (RCA) Oman announced the reopening of four historical sites for visitors. A statement issued online by RCA said that the reopening of the sites was based on the decision of the Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Oman. The four historical sites that were reopened for visitors are the Muscat Gate Museum, Al Mansour Castle in the Wilayat of Rustaq, Hisn Al Shumookh Library and the entertainment centre in the Wilayat of Manah. The reopening news was also accompanied by strict warning to visitors to adhere to the COVID-19 precautionary measures at all times. Entry will be denied for those not wearing masks, or not adhering to physical distancing and sterilising or washing hands, said a statement issued by RCA.
