Additional trusts in covid hotspots such as Kent and London to start giving covid vaccine
A total of 18 trusts have been added to the vaccine programme, bringing the total number of hospitals up to 82
Several NHS trusts in covid hotspot areas will start receiving batches of the vaccine for the first time, according to NHS England.
Barts Health Trust, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and Bedfordshire FT are among the latest set of trusts that will start providing the covid vaccine to over 80s and health and care staff.
These three trusts all operate in tier four areas with the highest rate of covid.

Cornwall will spend Christmas in tier one of the coronavirus restrictions, the Government has confirmed.
In a coronavirus tier review announced by the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, it was confirmed that Cornwall will continue to have the lowest level of restrictions in the current structure.
Earlier this month, only Cornwall and the Isle of Wight were put into the lowest category.
The news this morning comes amid a warning from the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson calling on people to have a “merry, little Christmas” in light of an increase in cases across the country.

Plymouth will find out which Tier it has been placed into after the Government reviewed the Covid grading system yesterday.
The city, along with the rest of Devon, was placed into Tier 2 at the beginning of December, with neighbouring Cornwall put into Tier 1.

Dr Harrell said: The number of cases has steadily declined since the middle of last month and we are now in a similar position to where we were at the beginning of October.
GP practices across England will begin giving out Covid vaccinations from this week as the roll out of the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history gains further momentum. Practices in more than 100 parts of the country are taking delivery of the vaccine today, with some kicking off their clinics this afternoon and the majority starting on Tuesday. The Packet has questioned NHS England over which practices in Cornwall will be receiving the vaccines first. In all situations patients are asked not to telephone their GP practice to find out when, or if, they are going to get a vaccine. Patients will be contacted individually when one is available to them, with the programme of vaccinations expected to last well into 2021.
