The Duchess of Sussex’s former communications secretary “led extensive efforts” to defend her reputation and “protect her father from media intrusion”, according to a letter sent to the Mail On Sunday’s lawyers.
Jason Knauf “repeatedly” spoke to Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle and directly contacted media organisations to “object to intrusions into Mr Markle’s privacy” from 2016, his lawyers said in a letter last month.
Mr Knauf also advised that “a reference to Mr Markle’s ill-health be included” in a letter sent by the duchess to her father in August 2018, which his solicitors described as “only a very minor suggestion”.

While a source characterized the dialogue between the three as unproductive, an insider told the news outlet that it could be seen as a step in the right direction despite the brotherly strife. After the Duke of Edinburgh s funeral, Prince Charles held private talks with his sons, which insiders claim is just what Philip would have liked, The Sun reported. Following Saturday s televised service, the three got together away from the cameras. They stayed together for two hours on the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, mingling with family members. This gave rise to hopes that the crippling schism between the brothers could be resolved one day.

When the news broke that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, had died at the age of 99 in Windsor Castle, his grandson
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan were in the United States.
Soon after, locals gathered at the private road leading to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex s home in Montecito, just outside of Santa Barbara in California.
News crews set up nearby and a helicopter was seen flying overhead, but Harry and Meghan were nowhere to be seen.
