WSU to hold drive-through graduation event

After a trying year of virtual learning, WSU Pullman is putting together a drive-through graduation event to celebrate seniors living in Pullman. The event will take place 10 a.m. May 1, said Kim Holapa, associate vice president of External Engagement and Strategic Initiatives for the WSU Division of Student Affairs. From there, the route will run through Stadium Way, past Martin Stadium, through Glenn Terrell Mall and the heart of campus, and will end on Thatuna Street by the Chinook Student Center, Holapa said.

Chase suspect taken into custody after spike strips deployed on 5 Freeway in Los Angeles KABC LOS ANGELES (KABC) A suspect was taken into custody at the end of a chase on a busy 5 Freeway in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon, causing a traffic backup. The driver at times was forced to travel at slow speeds and even stop with police units behind when running into light traffic on the roadway. Authorities deployed a spike strip near the Stadium Way exit, which the white SUV drove over. The driver, however, did not get far and pulled over in the middle of a freeway. One woman got out of the passenger seat and surrendered to officers.

WSU couple met through matchmaking contest

Though Valentine’s Day has passed for the year, one couple still thinks about their first date on Valentine’s Day of 1999.  WSU alumni Joe and Carisa Fazzari met through a Valentine’s Day matchmaking contest. They filled out a compatibility survey and won the contest. They were matched and given each other’s contact information with movie.
