One week ago, the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA announced the hiring of former UConn women’s basketball great Jennifer Rizzotti as its next president of the franchise. She takes over for Amber Cox, who moved on to Kansas City NWSL as their COO.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Sun formally introduced Rizzotti in a press conference held at Mohegan Sun Arena.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. New Connecticut Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti plans to keep her second job this summer as an assistant coach on the United States women s Olympic basketball team.
The former UConn player and longtime college coach was introduced Tuesday by the Sun a week after being named to lead the organization.
Rizzotti said she plans to juggle her time this summer between the WNBA team s front office and her on-the-court responsibilities with USA Basketball.
Coaching in the Olympics was certainly a dream of mine and not one that I was willing to give up, Rizzotti said. I made that clear from the beginning that coaching in the Olympics would be my final coaching task of 2021.
