(File photo) MUMBAI: After the state government on Monday informed that the Thane deputy collector was under pressure to give a report similar to the medical report on the ailing husband of a former MP, Bombay high court directed that instead a court official shall visit him. A bench of Justices Amjad Sayed and Madhav Jamdar heard a petition by Rajkumari Ratna Singh and her two children to appoint them legal guardians of her husband Jaisingh Sisodia and caretaker of his properties. Singh was thrice Congress MP from Uttar Pradesh. Sisodia is descendant of a royal family in Rajasthan and is under treatment at a rehabilitation centre. On February 17, the HC directed HOD (Psychiatry), Thane Civil Hospital, to submit a report on Sisodia’s physical and mental condition and the deputy collector on his response to the petition.

Representative image MUMBAI: Bombay high court has directed the state government to frame a policy for setting up retail outlets for the sale of biodiesel. A bench of justices Amjad Sayed and Madhav Jamdar heard a petition by three organisations led by All India Bio-Diesel Association to direct the state to comply with a Central notification of April 30, 2019 notification and to grant its non-objection. The ministry of petroleum and natural gas had issued the notification for setting up biodiesel pumps and retail sale of biodiesel. The petitioners’ advocate Ranjit Shinde had argued that as per the notification, 11 permissions are required and out of these, nine are required from various authorities of the State. Shinde said despite representation and requests by the petitioners, nothing was done.

MUMBAI: The Bombay high court has sought a report from the Thane Civil Hospital on the physical and mental condition of a former MP’s ailing husband, who is descendant of a royal family from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. A bench of Justices Amjad Sayed and Madhav Jamdar on February 17 heard a plea by Rajkumari Ratna Singh to appoint her legal guardian of her husband Jaisingh Sisodia and caretaker of his properties. She added her son and daughter as parties after the judges said they would consider appointing them jointly guardians. Singh was thrice Congress MP from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. She joined BJP in October 2019.
