Register-Guard Lane County reports 143 new COVID-19 cases Saturday Lane County reported 143 new confirmed or presumptive cases of COVID-19 Saturday, raising the countywide total to 7,664. There are 432 people considered infectious, an increase from 352 the day before. The death toll did not increase from Friday s count of 96. There are still 40 people hospitalized, the same as Friday.  The county had administered 5,574 first vaccine doses Friday, up 4.7% from Wednesday s 5,319. Lane County hospitals to distribute more vaccines Lane County hospitals McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center and PeaceHealth will be assisting community vaccination efforts, Lane County Public Health announced Friday.  The hospitals will vaccinate high-priority, frontline health care professionals.
