Govt has reached its Peter’s point
Prime Minister Dr Rowley - Office of the Prime Minister
THE EDITOR: It is beginning to show that the Rowley Government has reached its Peter s point, revealing a certain amount of bankruptcy of politics, economics and society in the current governance outlook: It has locked itself into a GAVI programme. There are no locally empowering laws for GAVI ideas and initiatives. GAVI plans and mission would require constitutional amendments or a new constitution. The national economic reorganisation being imposed is tightly bound in with building out this frame.
GAVI, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation, has no legal mandate and has questionable legal foundation and legal relations in international law. The context clarifies four things.
Education key in battle against virus
Prime Minister Dr Rowley - Angelo Marcelle
THE EDITOR: Monday s communication by Prime Minister Dr Rowley has highlighted the need for an increased and effective education campaign on the covid19 pandemic.
The nature of Monday s questions makes it evident that even among our more informed journalists there is a deficiency in the rudimentary grasp of the problem.
Essentially, in any infected individual there exists a plethora of constantly varying viral forms. There is however a dominant form but with concurrent variations. Dependent on existing environmental conditions, variants will emerge. The biological principle is survival of the fittest.
Rowley a minister of God
Prime Minister Dr Rowley - DAVID REID
THE EDITOR: The level of onslaught that this necessary lockdown has brought on the Prime Minister of our beloved nation is a clear indicator of the amount of inconsiderate and selfish people who claim to be citizens of this country.
It was very clear in the body language of the Prime Minister that he sensed that this onslaught was imminent. There was a visible heaviness in his mannerism as he reported to the nation the health crisis and the necessary measures that must be taken to stop the surge of this covid19 pandemic.
Case builds for bitter medicine
Prime Minister Dr Rowley - Angelo Marcelle
THE Prime Minister’s media conference on Monday built a strong case for the imposition of the harshest of measures to control the covid19 outbreak.
But in the end, Dr Rowley spared the nation and left it for citizens to read between the lines: if you do not stay home in the coming days, the nuclear option of a state of emergency could soon come.
“For heaven’s sake, we are appealing to you,” the PM said. “For the days ahead, if you don’t have to come out as an essential worker, stay at home. Stay away from people.”
