Saskatchewan’s provincial government is going local, procuring a large new supply of PPE for Saskatchewan schools from a pair of Saskatoon companies.
According to a news release issued on Monday, the government will buy four million medical-grade disposable masks from Saskatoon company Innovation Safety Supply, and 30,000 face shields from Benchmark Personal Protective Equipment.

“Our government is committed to providing teachers, students and school staff continued access to personal protective equipment from locally based companies,” Education Minister Dustin Duncan said in a statement in the press release.

Two Saskatoon companies are filling the Saskatchewan government’s latest order for personal protective equipment for schools.
On Monday, the government said it was buying another four million medical-grade disposable masks and 30,000 face shields the fourth order of PPE supplies for schools since the COVID-19 pandemic began in Saskatchewan.
“Our government is committed to providing teachers, students and school staff continued access to personal protective equipment from locally based companies,” Education Minister Dustin Duncan said in a media release. “We will continue working with our school communities to ensure they have the supplies needed to keep students, staff and families safe.”
