Adding double pressure to the already ongoing Covid crisis, over 3,000 infected patients have gone missing in Bengaluru and many have switched off their phones, Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that the government has asked the police to trace them as soon as possible. He claimed that the missing people are spreading the disease, in a state that has seen the positive cases skyrocket in the past few days.

Maharashtra capital in the total number of covid cases too. A new record was created on Sunday with Bengaluru logging 20,733 cases for the first time and 34,804 cases being registered in the State.
While Bengaluru’s total caseload is 6,53,656 with 1,80,542 active cases, Mumbai’s caseload is 6,27,644 with 75,948 active cases. While 5,498 covid cases and 64 deaths were reported from Mumbai on Sunday, Bengaluru logged 20,733 and 77 deaths.
But, Bengaluru has lower cumulative deaths (5,800) reported than Mumbai (12,790). Even last year, Bengaluru had overtaken Mumbai at a time, but the island city was logging more cases during the initial days of the second wave and had overtaken Bengaluru.
