Kosovo set to elect law professor as new president

Despite the victory, doubts remain if she will be confirmed president after two opposition parties threatened to boycott the vote. A quorum of 80 MPs out of the 160 seats is needed for a presidential vote to proceed. Under the constitution failure to elect Osmani, 38, would see parliament dissolved and legislative elections held with 45 days.

VERMONT The state of Vermont is expecting to expand eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to out-of-state college students and second homeowners on April 30 if there is an adequate supply of vaccines.
Gov. Phil Scott announced the policy change Wednesday after he initially said vaccines in the state would be reserved for residents.
For the purposes of being vaccinated, Vermont defines residents as people who have lived there for six months, including college students who plan to spend the summer in the state.
PRISTINA, Kosovo Kosovo recorded 975 coronavirus cases on Thursday, the highest daily number.
Kosovo has started vaccinations this week after getting some 24,000 AstraZeneca doses from the COVAX program, which will be used for medical personnel and people over 80.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has asked neighboring Albania to help with the vaccination of the schoolteachers. Authorities are asking people to respect mandatory mask wearing, not gather in crowds of more than 50 and observe the overnight curfew.
Kosovo has recorded 91,405 confirmed cases and 1,884 confirmed deaths.
