Katara announces winners of 4th Quran recitation contest

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the winners of the fourth edition of the prestigious Katara Prize for Quran Recitation held during the holy month of Ramadan.
Five winners were chosen from among a large number of competitors who took part in this year’s edition of the annual event. The names of the winners have been published on Katara’s official social media accounts.
Taking the first place was Abdullah Dawod Mohammed from Tanzania. He was followed by Alaa Adin Hamza Magazi Hamtour from Egypt in second place and Hamza Warrash from Morocco in third place.

Muscat: Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) has invited everyone to watch for the crescent moon of Shawwal for this year, on the evening of Wednesday the 29th of Ramadan 1442 H, which corresponds to the 12 of May 2021.
An announcement issued online by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) said: “ The Ministry invites everyone to watch for of the crescent moon of Shawwal for this year, on the evening of Wednesday the 29th of Ramadan 1442 H, which corresponds to the 12 of May 2021.”
“ While doing so, adhere to the instructions issued by the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism of dealing with developments resulting from the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19).” continued the announcement.

Doha: The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has called upon all Muslims in the State of Qatar to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal tomorrow, Tueday evening, May 11, 2021, 29th Ramadan 1442 AH.
In a statement today, the Committee asked the witnesses to head to the Committee s headquarters in the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs building in Al Dafna to report their testimony. The Committee will meet immediately after the Maghreb prayer.
