Over the last couple of years, I’ve held off on making resolutions.
The ones about losing weight and saving money were postponed, and those about tossing long unused possessions only were partly successful. New stuff replaced the old.
But if there’s a resolve to embrace in 2021, which all too soon turned into a repeat of 2020 with Wednesday’s insurrection, it’s to practice patience.

State officials will start distributing most of Texas’ vaccine doses next week to a handful of large pharmacies and hospitals, creating “vaccination hubs” where more people can get a shot quickly, the Department of State Health Services announced Thursday.

Houston Health Department, partners announce free COVID-19 testing schedule for week of January 4

HOUSTON - The Houston Health Department and its agency partners are announcing the schedule for sites offering free COVID-19 tests the week of January 4, 2020. Twenty-four FREE+FAST+SAFE testing sites across Houston are on the schedule for the week. The Aldine area will benefit from two COVID-19 testing sites set up this week by the Houston Health Department and Harris County Public Health. The zip code 77037 within Aldine remains among the 15 Houston zip codes with the highest COVID-19 positivity rate.
