Season 13 has some big shoes to fill when it comes to the Rusical. Season 12’s “Madonna: The Unauthorized Rusical” paid tribute to a legend and did so in style and if that weren’t enough, the top four queens crushed their final challenge, performing numbers from
RuPaul’s Drag Race Live. The season 13 queens are very talented, delivering strong performances in the improv challenge, but they’ll need more than charisma for their Rusical to stand out among the show’s recent offerings. They’ll need solid material to work with. Ultimately, “Social Media: The Unverified Rusical” is more “PharmaRusical” than “Bitch Perfect,” but what the episode lacks in dynamic Rusical performances it makes up for with satisfying narrative pay-offs, fun moments, and cast shake-ups.
"In The Room" indulges in the biggest, most manipulative tactics in the This Is Us playbook, both when it comes to emotion and suspense yet it ultimately keeps things grounded.

Any doubts Tommy had about how well she’d readjust to her adrenaline-driven workplace quickly dissipated after the season-two premiere last month. She continues to show off her nerves of steel in “Difficult Conversations,” the fifth episode of season two. In this exclusive clip from the episode, which airs Monday night at 9:01 p.m. ET, firefighter captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) leads his team at the scene of a gnarly collision between an SUV and beam-laden
This Is Us loves a fake out car crash. It ended its first season with one for Jack, and pulled the same trick with Kevin and Tess halfway through season two. So given how blatantly this episode’s opening shot (and its promo) suggested Kevin would find himself in a fiery crash, I should’ve known to be suspicious. But, I’ll admit, the show got me. I didn’t expect that Kevin’s rush to be at the birth of his twins would feature him stopping to rescue someone else from a car crash. Especially when that person turns out to be surprise guest star Joshua Malina!

I don’t think I have ever encountered a form of ginger I didn’t enjoy. Candied ginger, pickled ginger, fresh ginger all ginger is good ginger. (I’m also a fan of
gingers, but that’s not what this is about.) I lean hard on pickled ginger most of the time particularly in dressings and drinks but cold weather calls for a sweeter, warmer type of ginger root. Cold weather call for air-fried ginger.

Of course, it’s “not really fried,” but more “turbo-roasted.” (“The Turbo Roaster” would have been a more accurate name for the air fryer, I think, but what’s done is done.) Semantics aside, air-fried ginger is a delight for most, if not all of your senses. It has a caramelized, lightly candied quality, and is so soft you can tear it apart with your hands. It’s slightly less smoky than broiler-roasted ginger (which is how
