‘Broadway Backwards’ 2021 event to be streamed virtually
Cherry Jones and Ariana DeBose will take part in this year’s concert.

Typically,
Broadway Backwards sees stars performing musical theatre songs that typically go against their casting bracket. For this year,
Broadway Backwards will take place online, dedicated to the effects of Covid-19 on the LGBTQ community, streaming on March 30.
New songs will be merged with performances from previous years in a
Broadway Backwards extravaganza. Jay Armstrong will star as an isolated New Yorker who is guided by a late night television host, played by Jenn Collella.
The event’s opening number will feature Tony Award winners Stephanie J. Block and Lea Salonga alongside Deborah Cox. There’ll also be performances from

Influential documentarian
Ken Burns has made many landmark films in his four-decade career including the Academy Award-nominated Brooklyn Bridge, The American Civil War and The Vietnam War. His latest work is Hemingway , a three-part, six hour series made for PBS with producer-director, Lynn Novick, exploring the life and work of the legendary writer.
Like all of Ken’s work, it is produced by
Florentine Films, the production company he set up in Walpole, New Hampshire, with fellow filmmakers Elaine Mayes, Lawrence Hott and Roger Sherman. Each member works independently, but releases content under the shared banner of Florentine Films.

Gold’s failure to breach the $1,850 an ounce level so far in 2021 and another retreat below $1,800 could open the floodgates to more selling, analysts warned on Wednesday.
In global markets, gold prices fell near two-week lows on Wednesday amid a stronger dollar and hardening of US bond yields. Spot gold was down 0.2 per cent to $1,791.36 per ounce.
However, analysts at Bank of America do not rule out a potential for gold prices to push above $2,000 an ounce in 2021. Maintaining their forecast for prices to average the year around $2,063 an ounce, they said that gold s peak is likely to come in the second quarter with prices averaging the three-month period around $2,100 an ounce.
Gold prices are likely to facilitate a deeper pullback after the price action broke below the $US1,800 per ounce today.
