Buffalo pass-rusher Malcolm Koonce:
I love the positional fit here as the Raiders needed to take a pass rusher. Some people think Koonce was picked too high and some think he’s a hidden gem. That’s the beauty of the draft.
No. 80 linebacker/safety Divine Deablo:
I like this pick. This kid is fast and big. At worst, he’s a good special teamer. At best, he’s a starter. This choice may not be the best news for 2020 third-round pick, Tanner Muse, but that’s a story for another day.

Don t get excited about this year s draft By rg12jsl3 on Apr 24, 2021, 6:36am PDT +
Please, for the love of God, don t get excited about this year s draft. Why? Because last year, and the year before, and the year before that, you did, and pretty much no one interesting came to the Raiders out of those drafts.
There was so much salivating and high-fiving last year over loser, zero-impact players like Amik Robertson and Lynn Bowden. Bowden never played a single down for us, and Robertson mysteriously died and was never seen again, though he s somehow listed on our roster. Bowden is a Swiss Army knife! The ultimate weapon! Gruden will find ingenious ways to use him on our offense. He s the next Taysom Hill!

There was a great post about how many fans and mockers don’t take into consideration the player archetypes teams stick too. For example, the Raiders tend to go for players from big conference schools, and successfull programs, with big football character. I also think they have gone heavily after defenders that are tougher against the run, or at least balanced, and while they are open to smaller school players in the mid round range, it is usually players that still have played a lot of football and had a lot of success and showed good football character (Amik Robertson, Maxx Crosby)
