It has been a long time coming. It really has but for the first time in 2021 the Amarillo Bulls finally get to have a home game with fans in the stand. This is great news.
With our Covid numbers being high the Amarillo Civic Center made the decision to close their doors and with that a lot of events back in the fall of 2020. Finally the good news that our numbers have been down for several consecutive days so the announcement was made.
Yes, finally hockey is back in Amarillo and we can fill the seats in the Civic Center with screaming Amarillo Bulls fans. The rules are simple. If you are at the game you have to have a mask. You can take them off when you are in your seat eating and drinking. It seems reasonable.

That last point means that things can start opening back up more, the city is rolling back some of the restrictions and guidelines put in place (the Governor s mask mandate is
still in effect), and we can start looking forward to some carefully planned events.

District officials state that the North Heights Alternative School graduation ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. May 25 or the morning of May 29. If there is inclement weather, make-up days at the stadium will be May 29-30.
David Bishop, assistant superintendent of high schools for the district, said while the district had set dates with the Amarillo Civic Center Complex for indoor ceremonies, civic center officials could not guarantee the ceremony, with it still being closed because of Trauma Service Area A continuing to be an area of high COVID-19 hospitalization rates.
“Our recommendation at this time is to hold the graduation ceremonies at Dick Bivins Stadium,” Bishop said. “It would be modified from what we did last year. We could open up capacity. Right now, at our last football game, we had 25% capacity. If we stayed at that, we would get six tickets per senior. If we went to 50% capacity, which we hope in May we could do that… we could go up
