Jon Huber’s widow Amanda Huber posted a message on Instagram about her late husband (a/k/a Brodie Lee) on Tuesday night, providing more details on his medical situation and criticizing an editorial column by a now-former PWTorch.com columnist.
She also spoke about the journey they’d been on as a couple and how good things seemed to be before his death.
“Imagine being 17 and spending a night chatting with a mutual friend,” she wrote. “Then realizing that they were ‘the one. ”
McQuaid graduate Jon Huber, a popular wrestler with All Elite Wrestling, has died at age 41.
Huber s wife, Amanda, said on Instagram Saturday evening that her husband had a non COVID related lung issue. Huber s death was also announced by the official AEW Twitter account.
Huber performed under the monikers Brodie Lee (AEW) and Luke Harper (WWE).
Amanda Huber posted a gallery of her husband, who she called the greatest father you would ever meet on Instagram. My best friend died today, she said, while adding that Jon Huber was surrounded by family and friends. Amanda Huber thanked doctors and nurses at the Mayo Clinic.
AEW was aware of Lee’s condition, but respected the family’s request for privacy. Some on the roster are speaking out anonymously now to ‘dispel the idea that anything scandalous happened’.

Since the tragic passing of Brodie Lee – real name Jon Huber – a picture of WWE Superstars posing with Luke Harper backstage has gone viral. Earlier, former WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt and Chris Hero shared the picture, and recently, Lee’s AEW colleague and former WWE superstar Chris Jericho shared the story behind the viral picture. Apart from Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Sheamus, Cesaro, and Primo (from The Colons) can also be seen posing with Huber in the picture, while wearing the custom made Luke Harper t-shirts.

During today’s show, Meltzer addressed Lee testing negative for COVID-19 multiple times while he was hospitalized, and COVID-19 was said to have been ruled out as a cause of his ailment.
On Saturday, December 26, Lee’s widow, Amanda Huber, released a public statement, saying that Brodie Lee passed after battling a “non-COVID related lung issue.” Meltzer reported that Brodie Lee was tested for COVID-19 “many times” during his hospitalization. Meltzer stated on the issue of Brodie Lee having COVID-19, “Legitimately, that can be ruled out.”
