In Michigan and across the country, more women are getting elected to serve in top leadership positions.
And when those elected officials face sexism on the job, more voters than ever want to hear elected officials address it directly, new nationwide data indicates.
According to a report from the Barbara Lee Family Foundation a Massachusetts-based nonpartisan organization focused on research and advocacy for women in politics and contemporary art a majority of likely voters in the U.S. agree that women in politics face sexism and indicated broad support for women candidates speaking out about sexist situations they experience.
