During the month of June, four outdoor barbecue events will be held on Thursday evenings. The Lougheed Foundation, Innova Wealth Management, Sting Ray Radio and Extreme North Gymnastics Club have donated $10,000 each to support the fundraiser. Greater Sudburians can also participate with a sponsorship of $1,000, where teams of four people can support the fundraising initiative by serving meals at the Elgin Street Mission. Amanda Robichaud recalls wondering, in those painful days and weeks that followed Christopher Labrecheâs suicide, if her brother should have chosen a different job.
âThatâs a bit of a fleeting thought,â Robichaud told a video press conference on Thursday. âWeâre proud of his service, weâre proud of the job he chose. He couldnât have done anything else. He was born to be a police officer and he loved it. He loved the job.â
