The Mitchell Board of Education on Monday night approved the annual compensation of several administrators with the Mitchell School District, following an executive session at the end of the meeting.
In addition to the 14 administrator salaries, the board also approved a 3% raise for Joe Graves, superintendent for the Mitchell School District, bringing his salary to $154,403 for the 2021-22 school year. Administrator salaries are considered, adjusted if deemed necessary and approved yearly by the board.

The Mitchell Board of Education will consider administrator compensation for the 2021-22 school year at its next meeting.
The agenda item will be addressed at the Monday, April 26 meeting of the board, which is scheduled to be held virtually. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Administrator compensation was on the agenda for the April 12 meeting of the board, but it was tabled to Monday night’s meeting in the event an executive session was needed to discuss the qualifications, competence, performance, character or fitness of any public officer of employee or perspective public officer or employee, which is allowed under South Dakota law.

The Van Wert County Foundation serves as a philanthropic vehicle for individuals, corporations, and organizations by administering grants to charitable organizations.
“This competitive grant cycle is the best opportunity for local nonprofits to acquire 2021 funding for projects and programs, as our next cycle is in December, and those awards will be made in 2022,” said VWCF CEO Seth Baker.
This grant cycle culminates a year following the release of the updated application process and program. The Online Grants Manager compiles information and support materials for The Van Wert County Foundation’s software system for managing online applications and grants. This process allows grantees an easy way to see the status of a grant, check due dates, and submit electronic grant reports (if required).
