Vaccinations for the local refugee population
A vaccination pod was held at the Center in Downtown Utica earlier today, and it was just for refugees.

There are at least 42 different languages spoken throughout the City of Utica, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise how confusing it can be to translate ever changing information concerning the pandemic. For local refugees it’s even more confusing when the information is coming from multiple sources. Shelly Callahan is the Executive Director of the Center. We’ve had to refine our messaging, and really address all those sorts of concerns that people have because our folks listen to news and news sources not only locally, but nationally, and internationally.
New York State Team
The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in New York has been plagued by supply shortages, miscommunication and unpredictable deliveries as state and federal officials struggle to streamline the dire push to end the coronavirus pandemic, health care leaders said.
Hospitals desperately seek details about when to expect more vaccine deliveries. A vaccination scheduling process effectively stalled at some sites due to the lack of information from government officials. And there s been confusion among some vaccination sites about reporting immunization data to the state.
Those are some of the accounts emerging from the frontlines of the historic effort to get as many COVID-19 vaccine shots into arms as possible, according to a hospital trade group and a federally qualified health center official.
Camden Schools vaccinating staff in high school gym
While many teachers in Oneida County struggled to make Covid vaccine appointments only to have them canceled because the provider ran out of doses, staff in the Camden School District merely went to the high school gym on Thursday.

The district partnered with Upstate Family Health Center, in Utica, for COVID testing, and revisited that partnership for vaccinations.
