The Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), Apostle George Yeboah, has admonished Ghanaians to be obedient to authority, saying such is ordained by God.
He said insults, especially of the elderly and people in authority considered an affront in Ghanaian culture had become commonplace.
He said it was important that the public refrained from such attitude, and rather showed decorum in daily engagement, even in the heated arena of politics.
He said God used leaders to usher his people into peace and prosperity, stressing that when leaders were obeyed and respected, God would use them to bring economic prosperity to the nation in the new year.

The Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), Apostle George Yeboah, has admonished Ghanaians to be obedient to authority because such is what has been ordained by God.
According to him, some people have resorted to insulting leaders with impunity and that is an affront to the Ghanaian culture.
Apostle Yeboah was speaking at a December 31watch night church service to usher in the New Year at the Christ Apostolic Church International, Anim Temple, Osu in Accra, on Thursday.
He called on Ghanaians to show gratitude to God for the peace they are enjoying as they enter the New Year after the just-ended elections in the country.
Clergymen call for peace and justice
The Most Reverend John Bonaventure Kwofie, the Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, has called on politicians and members of the public to be circumspect in their actions and inactions in the post-election dispute epoch.
While wishing Christians a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, he said they could only enjoy the yuletide if they united with other religious faiths to prioritise the protection of the nation’s peace.
“We need justice for peace to prevail and we need peace for justice to be served, so all respective institutions should work towards protecting the nation and its hard-earned peace,” he said.
