LANDIKOTAL: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abbas Ahsan on Friday handed over various equipment to the Khyber district police.
Speaking at the ceremony Shahkas police lines in Jamrud, he said that performance of Khyber Police was appreciable. He said that during the last several days, Khyber police had arrested dozens of drug addicts as well as traffickers.
He said honest officers in the force would be encouraged and dishonest ones discouraged.
Abbas Ahsan planted a sapling in the police lines and handed over guns, mobile vans, heavy motorbikes, computer systems, furniture, and uniforms to the district police officer. He also distributed cash prizes and certificates to cops who performed well in polio campaigns.
NET kicks off operations against drug mafias

PESHAWAR: A number of districts have set up Narcotics Eradication Teams (NET) to launch crackdown on drug dealers, especially those involved in the sale and production of ice (methamphetamine) and heroin.
The KP Police authorities had ordered all the district police officers (DPOs) to set up NET for tightening the noose around the drug mafia.
They were directed to ensure the appointment of clean and competent deputy superintendent of police (DSPs) as heads of the squads to effectively lead the operations.
Two teams of the NET were set up in the provincial capital on Friday. Capital City Police Officer Abbas Ahsan said the teams had already kicked off operations.
