Match 1: 1 Called Manders vs. Parrow
Hoss murder to kick this off, eh? Parrow remains an intimidating presence, the ref keeps having to hold him back from attacking Manders early during his entrance, who comes in through the people. Manders invites Parrow to start this on the floor in front of the stage, and the fists are swinging right away. Parrow clubbed down with a lariat as Manders goes to work with a chair. Manders sets up a door but Parrow reverses the whip and sends the cowboy into the lumber. Parrow slams Manders through some light tubes across chairs. AEW’s crossovers with other companies have gone up a notch, with NJPW’s KENTA taking out Jon Moxley on Dynamite. Wednesday night’s episode saw the NJPW star appear at the end of the show, jumping Moxley in retaliation for Moxley doing the same to him on NJPW Strong last week.
Moxley and KENTA are feuding over the IWGP United States Championship, which KENTA has a title shot for. They’re set to face off at NJPW New Beginning in the USA on February 26th. You can see clips from the moment below. The appearance follows on AEW’s crossovers as of late with Impact Wrestling, which also showed up this week as the Good Brothers and Father James Mitchell appeared on the episode.
Impact Wrestling (Jan. 5, 2021) featured the
Hard to Kill card taking shape, Kenny Omega getting violent, as well as Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards getting even more violent.
Let’s run it down quickly from beginning to end.
Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne were on commentary.
Crazzy Steve defeated Ace Austin, Blake Christian, & KC Navarro in a four-way. This bout was a warm-up heading into the Super X Cup tournament at
Genesis on January 9. Steve used Navarro’s body on a Death Valley Driver to smash the other two in the corner, then Steve connected on a flying DDT to pin Navarro.
Jeremy’s Impact Wrestling Review 1.5.21
Hello there, Impact fans! It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for another episode of Impact Wrestling. I’m Jeremy, and y’all know how this works. Or actually, you don’t because this is going to be a little different. I will not be able to do a full recap as normal this week, as Impact is no longer sending out screeners and I can’t live recap as full and focus on news posting. As such, this will be a much briefer coverage than usual. We’re looking for someone who can give you weekly live coverage. Either way, I’ll still be watching weekly because dammit, this company has won me over in the past six months. Anyway, let’s jump right in!
