ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Saturday extended congratulations to Sadiq Sanjrani and Mirza Muhammad Afridi on winning the Senate chairman and deputy chairman elections.
The premier said in his tweet he is happy that Balochistan and former FATA got the two slots in line with his policy of mainstreaming those parts of Pakistan that have been marginalized or left behind in the past.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister on Information, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the corrupt group of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – which got Yousaf Raza Gillani elected as Senator by horse-trading – is now hiding faces over his humiliating defeat in the Senate chairman election.
The SACM took to Twitter on Saturday and said every passing day is authenticating victory of Prime Minister Imran Khan’ stance by exposing PDM. The experienced crooks of PDM were trapped in their own ploy, she remarked.

ISLAMABAD: A much-needed voter of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Friday’s (today) election for chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate escaped his arrest as the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restrained the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab from taking him into custody till March 20.
Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government had decided to arrest him in an old case in order to stop him from casting his vote for Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, the PDM’s candidates for chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate, respectively.
