Jakarta (ANTARA) - Investigators of Jakarta Police did not detain five suspects in the case of violation of government health protocols at several crowd-pulling events in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, last month after completing their interrogation on Sunday and Monday. Unlike Islam Defenders Front (FPI) leader Habib Rizieq Shihab, who was immediately taken into police custody shortly after completion of his interrogation over this health protocol breach case, the police investigators sent the five suspects home. In the handwritten letter, dated December 14, 2020, a copy of which was accessed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Tuesday, Shihab said he felt healthy, safe, comfortable, and calm, and was being treated well by the wardens at the detention center.

Either they surrender or get arrested, National Police Spokesman Inspector General Argo Yuwono told journalists here early Sunday. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police investigators grilled Islam Defenders Front (FPI) leader Habib Rizieq Shihab for 11 hours over the case of alleged breach of the government s health protocols in several crowds-pulling events, held at his home and FPI headquarters last month. In the questioning, conducted from 11.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. on Saturday, the police investigators raised 84 questions to the suspect, National Police Spokesman Inspector General Argo Yuwono said here early Sunday. Speaking to journalists at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters, Yuwono said the police investigators also decided to detain the FPI leader as a suspect in the health protocol breach case.

Some of the sympathizers who gathered with a pack of journalists at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters did not just shout Takbir (Allah is the greatest) but they also prayed for God s protection for this well-respected ulema.
