Obituary: Mr William Billy David Crooke | Impartial Reporter

William David Crooke, known to all as Billy, passed away at the South West Acute Hospital on the night of April 12, 2021 after a sudden illness. He was 83 years old. Billy was born on April 26, 1937, elder son of William Parke Crooke and Lily Crooke (nee Donaldson) of The Rocks, Blaney, Enniskillen. His younger brother George predeceased him in 2013. He is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Victoria (Kevin) and Jane (Daniel), and grandchildren Caoimhe, William, Caitlin and Charlotte. Billy had a great love of sport and in his younger days was very active in both motor rallying and water skiing at competitive levels. He was an active member of Enniskillen Golf Club for over 40 years where he held the position of Captain in 2005.

Enniskillen public realm scheme moves to next phase

THE Enniskillen Public Realm Scheme is progressing well as workmen continue to carry out their job in the town centre. There has been some disruption to traffic flow and currently a notable level of dust in the centre raised by the works. A newsletter from contractors FP McCann revealed an update on the progress of the works. “Paving and kerbing is progressing well on the project with a number of areas now complete. Kerbing and paving is now complete from Café Cellini to Regal Pass. “On Church Street, kerbing and paving has been completed from Vincent’s to St Michael’s Church, and on Darling Street, from St Michael’s down to Wesley Street.

(Mugshot via Will County Jail ) JOLIET, IL In less than two weeks, a high-profile Joliet murder trial will get underway, the first at the new Will County Courthouse. Patrick Gleason, who filed a federal lawsuit last May, falsely claiming the Joliet Police Department killed him, and that Joliet police have framed him for the slaying of Izzy s bartender Danny Rios, 52, will stand trial May 3. The 58-year-old Gleason is being represented by prominent Joliet criminal defense lawyers Chuck Bretz and Neil Patel. However, Gleason has had a rocky relationship with his criminal defense lawyers. Gleason wanted to fire Bretz as his counsel more than a year ago, a motion that was rejected by Will County Circuit Judge Daniel Rippy.
