46 Covid 19 fines issued in Donegal last weekend - Highland Radio - Latest Donegal News and Sport

There were 46 Covid 19 fines issued in Donegal last weekend, 30% down on the previous week s figures. Nationally to date, 20,280 fines have been issued by gardai across the range of all COVID-19 breaches, including 14,650 fines for non-essential travel, 718 for organising a house party, 2,855 for attending a house party, and 341 for not wearing a face covering. In the North Western region, 4,693 fines have been handed out over the course of the pandemic, 817 of them in the Donegal Division. Over last weekend, the number of fines issued in Donegal was 46. That s 20 fewer than were handed out in the previous week, but gardai are pointing out that is an incomplete figure, as it does not take account of any fines issued since regulations changed on Monday last.

House parties putting recovery at risk , warn gardaí

Updated / Friday, 9 Apr 2021 19:22 Gardaí said around 100 people were found at one house party (file image) Groups of people are continuing to congregate at house parties and social gatherings, according to the latest update on breaches of public health regulations from An Garda Síochána. In some instances, particularly in relation to house parties, gardaí are finding groups as big as 30 to 40 people. In one case last weekend. around 100 people were found at a house party, according to a garda statement this evening. These are not just breaches of regulations, but are a risk to the individuals involved, their families and loved ones, and continue to put everybody s health and the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic at risk.
