Alienlabs: Ted Lidie Once Ran An Illegal Cannabis Business, Then It Turned Into Something Much Bigger; Find Out More Below

(1) LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 23, 2021 / Ted Lidie never expected to be in the position of running a lucrative business. He came from a small town with not a lot of experience in the business world. He began selling marijuana and thankfully, was in the right time and place to turn it into a business. When we started putting our names on jars in the cannabis industry, most people were still in the shadows, afraid of what might happen if the world knew they grew weed. I was also afraid, but I saw what was coming, put my fears behind me and went to work. I come from a very poor family, in a very poor place (Redding, CA) (population 80K) to build one of the most worldwide recognized brands in such conditions is nothing short of a miracle. I say it a lot, I wasn t supposed to be here, Ted recounts.

How One Cannabis Company Sells Its Flower For Twice As Much

This article by Alex Halperin was originally published on WeedWeek, and appears here with permission. At Hey Emjay, a Los Angeles delivery service, eighths start at $16 and top out at $70. Almost all of the $70 offerings are indoor-grown flower from two brands, Connected and Alien Labs. On Friday afternoon, with hundreds of more affordable options available, several of the two brands’ SKUs had sold out.   We’ve all heard 2020 was the year of the value brand. But no one seems to have told Connected, which acquired Alien Labs in 2017.   According to data firm BDSA, between January and September 2020, Connected/Alien Labs generated more retail revenue selling branded flower nearly $50M than any other company in California. (Value brand Pacific Stone was a distant second.)

TeamTNT Cloaks Malware With Open-Source Tool

The detection-evasion tool, libprocesshider, hides TeamTNT’s malware from process-information programs. The TeamTNT threat group has added a new detection-evasion tool to its arsenal, helping its cryptomining malware skirt by defense teams. The TeamTNT cybercrime group is known for cloud-based attacks, including targeting Amazon Web Services (AWS) credentials in order to break into the cloud and use it to mine for the Monero cryptocurrency. It has also previously targeted Docker and Kubernetes cloud instances.   The new detection-evasion tool, libprocesshider, is copied from open-source repositories. The open-source tool, from 2014 has been located on Github, and is described as having capabilities to “hide a process under Linux using the ld preloader.”

TeamTNT actors advance Linux-targeting trend with new memory loader

Linux-based machines are no longer considered a major deterrent for cybercriminal groups, who are embracing the operating system as a target.(Solo se puede ser libre Cuándo no se tiene nada que perder/phylevn/CC BY 2.0) Linux-based machines are no longer considered a major deterrent for cybercriminal groups, who are embracing the operating system as a target. This is particularly true when workplaces leverage the cloud to deploy Linux-based containerization technology. Case in point: researchers are warning that several cyber gangs have started infecting Linux machines via a fileless malware installation technique that until recently was more commonly used against Windows-based systems.

NorCal Grown: Best of Apple Strains

The search for the best cannabis strains in the Bay Area. 2020 was many things but not least among them was the year of the Apple strain. With a whole orchard to choose from on the market now, we thought we’d take a look at 3 of our absolute favorites. LUMPYS APPLE FRITTER You never forget your first experience with this type of flavor, and like many people, mine was Lumpy’s iconic Apple Fritter. A cross of Sour Apple and Animal Cookies created in 2013, this strain won second place in the 2016 High Times NorCal Cup, and four years later, it still stands as the high-water mark. Though the company had some setbacks, this absolute juggernaut of a strain has been making its way back onto shelves, continuing to dominate, and even providing the basis for some incredible new varieties.
