Restaurant owners and operators are always on the lookout for special events they can use in their online and offline marketing efforts.
Tax Day, for example, has become an annual favorite as restaurants across the nation step up to offer tax weary Americans a break with special deals and offers.
April also serves up many food specific days that can easily be worked into any menu marketing plan. Jeni s Splendid Ice Creams has come up with a unique new flavor that imitates the taste of an everything bagel with cream cheese. The website says that it contains buttery streusel laden with sesame, poppy seeds and yes, onions and garlic schmeared throughout subtly sweet cream cheese ice cream.

Expect a Hawaiian Pizza with an Italian flare, a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and vintage tiki cocktails to be up for order from now until January 31.
The room has been given a makeover to really drum up the vintage-Hawaiian-extravaganza-spirit as well.

Kilkenny nursing home residents are flavour of the month after contributing to a new recipe book backed by celebrity chef Darina Allen.
Brid Dowling and Nancy Murphy are among the star chefs of the ‘Nursing Home Bake Off’ publication by Mowlam Healthcare, along with two other residents, Tom, 78, and Vera, all based in Archersrath Nursing Home.
The idea to gather a collection of residents’ favourite recipes was inspired by the trailblazing baking skills of a 91-year-old woman in Ennis Nursing Home, County Clare.
