Underpass will uproot 83 trees in Ullal Main Road

Ullal Main Road between Kengeri and Magadi Road, is likely to affect 83 trees. An expert committee constituted by the
High Court is expected to inspect the spot to examine the number of trees that can be saved from the axe. The project, motorists say, will ease the movement of traffic movement but they also urge officials to translocate these trees to a different place as a majority of them were planted just a few years ago.

The Chandra Layout police have arrested three men who were allegedly involved in over half a dozen robberies in and around the city in the last few months. Six motorcycles and five mobile phones worth ₹2.9 lakh were seized from the gang.
All three accused, Venkatesh, Hanumantha and Srishaila, are between 20 to 25 years of age. They were caught after they robbed a mobile phone from a pedestrian at Nagarbhavi Circle on January 30, said the police.
Acting on the complaint, the police identified the accused through CCTV footage and arrested them. “They allegedly confessed to operating in Chandra Layout and Kengeri. They also stole motorcycles in Vijayanagar and Kamakshipalya police station limits,” said a police officer.

The woman tenant has also filed a complaint that rowdy
elements, who had come to the house to throw out her belongings, outraged her modesty.
Kavitha (name changed) and her husband had moved into a rented house in Annapurneshwari Nagar in Guniagrahara near Soladevanahalli on September 17, 2020, as they saw a to-let board outside put up by the owner of the house, Sita (name changed), a single parent. The rent for the single-bedroom house was Rs 5,000 with an advance amount of Rs 40,000.

A deputy Superintendent of Police of the Criminal Investigation Department ended her life at a friend’s house in Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station limits in Bengaluru on Wednesday night. Four of her friends were detained by the police in connection with the case.
Dy SP, V. Lakshmi, is a Karnataka State Police Service (KSPS) officer of the 2014 batch. In 2017, she was appointed as DySP. She was married to Naveen and was living in Konanakunte.
On Wednesday evening, Lakshmi, police said, had attended a party at her friend Manohar alias Manu’s residence in Vinayaka Layout. “She reached Manu’s house around 7 pm and around 10 pm, she went to a room and locked herself up. As she did not come out for some time, her friends broke open the door only to find her hanging from the window grill. Immediately, she was rushed to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead,” the police said.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], December 17 (ANI): A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posted at Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Laxmi allegedly died by suicide at her friend s house in Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station limits in Bengaluru on Wednesday night, the police said. Police detained her four friends and investigation is going on, the police informed.
Laxmi had reportedly married eight years ago. The friends of the victim have stated that she was depressed and had tried to die by suicide earlier too. Last night at a party organised at her friend s house where she died by suicide, said Annapoorneshwari Nagar police.
