The Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers are favored once again to at least get to the Super Bowl if not win it again. How did they do it? Obviously signing Brady and Gronk the previous off-season made a huge difference, and to a lesser extent AB. But you need 53 guys, so the rest have to come from somewhere. Quietly, the Bucs must have been building a Super Bowl supporting cast under the radar over the years, right?
I used the Pro Football Reference Approximate Value (AV) metric to judge the value of each player in Tampa Bay s draft classes going back to 2014, the year they drafted Mike Evans, arguably the oldest important draftee on their team. I use the threshold average AV = 5.0 or greater per year to identify useful players that contribute to a team s success. Best Available Players on Day 2 of the NFL Draft

The first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is in the books. There were some surprise picks, some obvious ones, winners and losers abound, and (naturally) a handful of equally bizarre and hilarious moments.
Major networks have spent the last three months going deep in-depth into the very best prospects selected last night, prospects that will change the future of the franchises that chose them for better or for worse. But what about everyone else? Every year there s a handful of prospects selected after the first night of the draft who walk into their new building of employment and make an immediate impact towards the winning ways of the organization.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Washington linebacker Joe Tryon Thursday night in the first round of the NFL draft, No. 32 overall.
With no glaring needs after keeping the core of the roster together in free agency, the Super Bowl champions are looking to add promising prospects who’ll have time to develop while Tom Brady and a deep, talented cast around the quarterback try to become the first club to win consecutive NFL titles since the 2003 and 2004 New England Patriots.
