Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to face-punching later tonight (Sat., May 15, 2021) for its latest pay-per-view (PPV) offering with UFC 262, which will go down inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Headlining the event will be a Lightweight title fight that will see Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira compete for the vacant strap. In the co-headlining act, Tony Ferguson returns to face Beneil Dariush in a pivotal 155-pound affair.

HOUSTON, TX – The UFC lightweight division looks to get out of the shadow on former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov as they taking center stage tonight at the Toyota Center in Houston for UFC 262. In the main event fourth ranked Michael Chandler challenges third ranked lightweight, submission king Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title. Fan favorite former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson looks to get back to his winning ways as he battles division stalwart Beneil Dariush in the co-main event.
Chandler rides a 3-fight win streak into tonight’s title bout, finishing all three fights in the first round including his UFC debut over Dan Hooker. Oliveira, who holds the UFC record for submission victories comes into this fight having won 8 straight with seven finishes.

The UFC will be back in Texas for the first time since the pandemic started as the city of Houston plays host to UFC 262, which includes two lightweight bouts in the main and co-main event.
Ranked No. 3 and No. 4 respectively in the weight class, the two veteran fighters will square off in a title match to fill the vacant spot left by Khabib Numagomedov’s March retirement. The winner of the bout will likely defend the title this calendar year against the winner of the class’ top-ranked Dustin Poirier or current No. 6 Conor McGregor fight at UFC 264 this July. Second-ranked Justin Gaethje already had a recent crack at the title last November against Numagomedov.
