A DANGEROUS driver from a village near Northwich has been jailed for 22 months following a police pursuit from Liverpool into Cheshire. William Perks, 31, of Churchill Drive, Tarporley, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, April 27, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving. The court heard how, on Sunday, March 28, officers from the Roads and Crime Unit became aware of white Mazda which was being driven by Perks, who had previously been disqualified from driving in October 2020, travelling from Liverpool into Cheshire West and Chester. Patrols saw the vehicle travelling at recklessly high speeds through Runcorn towards Frodsham, before it began driving on the wrong side of the carriageway on Clifton Road.
