BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary casts his vote in Kokrajhar on Thursday
GUWAHATI: Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) supremo Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday said his party will form the BTC Council for the fourth consecutive term by winning at least 30 of the 40 council constituencies, which went to the polls in two phases.
Addressing the media after casting his vote at Debargaon council constituency in Kokrajhar, he said, “We are 100% confident of winning the BTC polls and forming the council by December 15.”
He said that BPF will cross the tally of 30, even as BJP heavyweight Himanta Biswa Sarma and chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal himself led the high-decibel poll campaign for the council elections, which many are seeing as the “semi-final” before the 2021 Assam elections due early next year.
