Cross country returns, track and field break records
The cross country team kickstarted the year in Tallahassee as the track and field team impressed in its second meet of year February 6, 2021 | 10:28pm EST

Florida’s busy weekend began on Friday and spilled over into Saturday as the cross country and track and field teams competed in the South Carolina Invitational.
Freshman leads at FSU Winter XC Classic
The men’s cross country team finished in last place with 525 points Friday morning in Tallahassee but freshman Stephanie Ormsby finished 21st in her collegiate debut at 20:44.9 the leading time on a Florida women’s team that finished 15th.

Four weeks ago I listed the best local concerts of the previous year. But it was a pretty short list: five shows, in a COVID-crippled year. NICOLE RECOMMENDS added nine more, and six of them were in one long weekend.

The 2020 Merino Superior Sires No 26 publication has been published by the Australian Merino Sire Evaluation Association (AMSEA) reporting the results of the 350+ sires entered in Merino Sire Evaluation between 2015 and 2019. Results include MERINOSELECT ASBVs for both wool and carcase traits, alongside widely used indexes. These results add to the within-site classing, visual and measured results reported by trial sites on the Merino Superior Sires website.

Other Music shut its doors for good Saturday night (6/25). A sad day, but OM s last day in business was pretty much a party when I showed up around 7 PM, for their last hour. Drinks were handed out to long time customers, and current/former staffers DJ d all night. The store kept normal hours, closing the doors at 8 PM but let customers and friends linger inside, with the last sale around 10 PM. I intended Arthur Russell s In The Light of the Miracle to be the last song of the night, said Daniel Givens who had the last DJ shift of the night. But of course, I m gonna keep playing.
