The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) announced the mandatory use of the Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) in order to maintain and enhance the quality of national highways. According to a recent statement released by the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways, the national survey vehicle will be deployed to carry out the road condition survey. The statement added that the survey using NSV on national highways is now compulsory at the time of the certifying completion of the project and every six months thereafter.

Voting will be held across 475 seats in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry on April 6, Tuesday, the busiest day of the ongoing election season. The polling will take place in a single phase in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry while Assam will witness its third and final round of voting. This will be Bengal s third round in the eight-phase election ending April 29.Â
Tamil Nadu will have a contest for 234 seats, Kerala for 140 seats, Assam for 40 constituencies, Bengal for 31 seats, and Puducherry for all 30 seats. Apart from assembly elections, two Lok Sabha seats â Malappuram and Kanyakumari â will also vote on the same day.
IIP Data: Industrial production fell 1.6 per cent in January 2021
The industrial production was down 1.6 per cent in January from a year earlier, government data showed on Friday. According to a recent poll of analysts conducted by news agency Reuters, the industrial production was expected to rise 0.9 per cent year-on-year in January. The industrial production, or the factory output, gauged by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), declined 1.6 per cent in January, after registering a one per cent growth in December 2020. Separate government data showed that retail inflation rose 5.03 per cent in February 2021, due to higher food and fuel prices. (
