Photo: Piaras Ó Mídheach/Sportsfile TG4 All-Ireland Senior finalists Dublin and Cork have been pitted together in Division 1B of the 2021 Lidl Ladies National Football League, which is due to get underway on May 23.   Dublin defeated Cork last December to claim a fourth straight All-Ireland Senior crown – but Cork are the reigning Division 1 League champions, having won the title in 2019.   Cork and Dublin will be joined by Tipperary and Waterford in an ultra-competitive Division 1B, with Galway, Mayo, Donegal and Westmeath making up Division 1A.

Down star Niamh Mallon says its an exciting time for Ulster camogie as the Mourne women get ready to enter into the senior ranks for the first time in two decades. This past December saw Down defeat Antrim in the All-Ireland intermediate final to cement their return to camogie’s top tier and Mallon is relishing the test. Speaking to RTE Sport, the 2020 WGPA Intermediate Player’s Player of the Year says she can take inspiration from teams such as Waterford which have succeeded through the ranks with the right structures in place.

Mr McCann, who was 47 and a married father of two children, was a member of the Augher St Macartan’s club. He was also one of the county’s most renowned coaches. After finishing his playing career, he went on to manage and coach a number of top clubs in the county, including Killyclogher and Carrickmore.

Share this article All-Ireland Senior champions Kilkenny dominate the 2020 Camogie All-Stars team. The Cats took six places on this year’s team with the awards sponsored by Liberty Insurance. All-Ireland runners-up Galway received two awards, with Tipperary and Cork receiving three awards each and Waterford completing the line-up with one award. Amongst the winners for the champions were full-back Claire Phelan, left half-back Davina Tobin, midfield Grace Walsh, left half-forward Denise Gaule, full-forward Miriam Walsh and left corner-forward Anne Dalton. All-Ireland runners-up Galway are represented with right corner-back Shauna Healy and right corner-forward Orlaith McGrath. Tipperary players Áine Slattery (goalkeeper), Mary Ryan (left corner-back) and Karen Kennedy (centre half-back) receive their first All-Stars Awards and are joined on the All-Stars selection by Cork trio Hannah Looney (right half-back), Chloe Sigerson (midfield) and Orla Cronin (centre half-forward).
