Jammu, July 30: Unknown to a wider public till recently, Vijay Sharma a native of Tehsil Akhnoor of Jammu has now got recognition across the world for imparting training to Saikhom Mirabai Chanu-the Olympics Silver medallist of India in Weightlifting.
Originally native of Sohal village of Tehsil Akhnoor, the family of Vijay Sharma had shifted to Modinagar town of Uttar Pradesh in the year of 1969 after the retirement of his father from the Army in search of a private job in the newly established industrial hub of Modinagar- a town of Ghaziabad district.

New Delhi, March 7 : Double Asian Games silver medallist Dutee Chand is likely to skip the All India University (AIU) selection trials to pick the team for the World University Games China in August, hinted her coach N. Ramesh on Sunday.
Without being specific, Ramesh told IANS: Being a defending champion she should get a direct entry in the AIU squad.
Dutee is the defending champion in the 100m dash of the World University Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China, from August 18-29.

New Delhi, March 2 : Applications are now open for the Hockey India s online coaching education pathway level basic coaching course, and interested people can enrol via an open forum.
Hockey India had organised coaching education pathway level basic coaching online course in September-October and December, and last month.
It has once again called for applications of interested and aspiring coaches to apply through an open forum. Only 40 slots will be available for the online course, which will be held on March 12. The candidates have to submit applications before 6 pm on March 6, Hockey India said in a statement on Tuesday.
