Mount Wachusett Community College opts for virtual graduation
Former state Sen. Stephen M. Brewer is set to give the keynote address at the May 19 commencement ceremony

GARDNER Mount Wachusett Community College will be holding its commencement ceremonies virtually on Wednesday, May 19. The MWCC Class of 2021 will be joined by retired state Sen. Stephen M. Brewer as the keynote speaker.
Brewer grew up on a farm in Barre, and throughout his time in the State House he worked to protect agricultural land and open space. In 1971, he earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a master’s degree in history from Assumption College in 1974.

That brings the total number of cases for the week that will end on Sunday to 160, with three days of data still to report. Last week there were a total of 194 cases.
There are now 276 active cases of COVID-19 in Brantford and Brant. Fourteen people are being treated for the virus at Brantford General Hospital.
