The CBI has booked three residents of Uttar Pradesh for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of stolen coal in different parts of the country.
The accused have been identified as Niyaj Ahmed, Murari Seth and Krishna Nand. While Niyaz and Murari are from Chandauli, the third one is from Ghazipur.
In the FIR, instituted on a complaint from a private person named Minhaj Ahmad, the agency has mentioned Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh as the States where the three allegedly dealt in stolen coal.

Kolkata, April 12 : The CBI on Monday interrogated the alleged coal scam kingpin Anup Majhi alias Lala for the sixth time.
According to the probe body, Majhi appeared before the CBI at around 11 a.m.
A CBI official said that he was being questioned in connection with the scam and about his financial dealings and his properties in the state (West Bengal).
The investigation agency had earlier grilled Majhi for several hours on April 1, 6, 8 and 10, and on March 30 in connection with the scam.

Kolkata, April 10 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Bankura Superintendent of Police Koteswara Rao N on April 12 for questioning in connection with alleged illegal coal smuggling case, sources said on Saturday. A CBI source related to the probe told IANS, We have summoned Rao for questioning in connection with the case on April 12. He has been asked to appear before the agency at our office in Salt Lake area in Kolkata.
The CBI, earlier in the day, questioned Anup Majhi a.k.a. Lala, the alleged kingpin of the coal pilferage case, for the fifth time.

According to CBI officials, Majhi appeared before the CBI around 11 a.m.
